About us
In September, 1992, Champion Stamp Company Inc. opened its doors and became New York Citys only street level retail stamp store. Since then we have maintained a Worldwide mint and used stock over 2000 counterbooks as well as a very comprehensive United States stock. For the Cover collector, we carry many thousands of United States and Worldwide Commercial and First Day Covers. Collections and Lots are also available, along with a full line of supplies, such as beginner kits, stamps by the pound, stock books, albums, supplements, books, catalogs, mounts, hinges, etc. In the last few years we have expanded our business to include the largest selection of worldwide banknote specimens, a vast selection of issued worldwide banknotes, over 15,000 US stock certificate specimens, hundreds of foreign bond specimens, vignettes and other unique ephemera. Our website was started in 1999 consisting of only three pages, a homepage, a page for our mystery cartons and another for our worldwide banknote specimens catalog. In October of 2002 we started working with Neil Creative Media Randy Neil and began to update and make the website represent what Champion Stamp Co. Inc., actually has to offer in Stamps, Banknotes and Ephemera. We introduced our Online Newsletter in April of last year and it has been well received with subscribers signing up daily. In September of 2003 we launched one of our most popular pages the Favorite Place to Eat and Drink in New York City. This is one of the more fun things we have to offer our customers and visitors alike that stop by the website. We enjoy finding and putting together new content for our website, a perfect example was the consolidation of our specimens to the World of Specimens introduced in January 2004. Among our innovations for our customers, introduced last February, was our Online Questionnaire. This was a simple addition the website and is a great way to obtain information about our customers collecting interests which helps us plan our future offers. Content, Content, Content.. We find it and give it to you. In the coming months you will see many new and exciting changes to the website. There is so much in production now for the website. For example we are scanning our vast inventory of Worldwide Banknote Specimens to make them available for sale on the website. Included will be an entire section featuring Krause Publications.
